The Unveiling of “Embrace”
Join the King family, national and local leaders, and partners as we come together to pay homage to heroes of the past and present, and to accelerate our collective contribution towards a radically inclusive and equitable world for all.
Designed by Hank Willis Thomas, an internationally acclaimed African American conceptual artist and MASS Design Group, the memorial commemorates the legacies of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Coretta Scott King, who met and went to school in Boston, and the civil rights leaders who worked alongside them in Boston.
We have several different ways in which folks can be part of the moment.
1) Come on down to Boston Common for the outdoor unveiling The ceremony will be displayed on large screens positioned near the Parkman Bandstand complete with live DJ and hot refreshments.
