Member Spotlight: Ilir Velagoshti
Ilir Velagoshti has been part of BostonYPA since 2019, often found at our networking events discussing business strategy with our entrepreneurs and those in sales professions. On our Board, his role has evolved in Membership Director - some of his responsibilities are behind the scenes and credited with our smoothly run events, and of course he may be the first person a new member meets at our events. From Membership questions to pitching a start up idea, Ilir’s the guy you want to meet.
Let’s get to know Ilir!
What are your current responsibilities and background? Sales background, in my current role I ensure that Automotive Dealerships purchase authentic Ford Accessories to improve profit margins. My background is in business management with several self started businesses and the latter being the primary focus of growth.
Did you grow up in Boston? If not, what led you here? I grew up in Boston but am Albanian born, what let me here was a family decision and Boston has been home since eleven years of age.
Do you have a secret weapon? A special skill? My skill that I value most about myself is being a optimistic, lead by example leader. I love empowering and helping people. If you’re facing adversity I will fight with you.
Is there a specific niche you focus on? AUTOMOTIVE I love everything about it, buying selling, restoring, appreciating and enjoying cars. They are art on wheels. I want to make acquiring transportation an enjoyable experience.
What are some of the highlights of your career so far? The thrill of starting new businesses and buying assets. Building and developing something new is exciting for me. I just like business efficiency and constant improvement.
Who are your ideal clients? Where can they find you? I am currently in B2B and have contracted clients but I am happy to connect with like minded entrepreneurs for future business partnerships and mentoring, you can find me on Linkedin and Facebook.

When/how did you become involved with BostonYPA? How has this affiliation helped your career? It has expanded my professional network and have made a couple of good friends along the way, the events are not your normal run of the mill events, always select venues with new member to engage.
What do you enjoy most about being a member? I emphasize socializing and conversation because thats what I value the most, the best connections happen over a random but meaningful conversation.
For those young professionals looking to possibly join, why should they join? I have come to meet the best of Boston and future leaders through this association, but it also offers a ton of value for everyone, whether you're more social or more business minded or somewhere in between.
What would you like BYPA professionals to know about you/your business? I am actively looking to meet with entrepreneurs and startups in Boston to help each other succeed, this year I am looking to implement and forge long term profitable business partnership agreements and execute on my ideas.
