Example 1: Advice/Help/Time

Dear Sue,

Thank you so much for the time you spent mentoring me over the last month. I am truly appreciative for the advice you gave me about handling my complicated situation at work. I cannot wait to use the networking tips for meeting new people to broaden my reach at my company. All of the help you have given me over our multiple meetings is so helpful to me early in my career. I am truly blessed to have a new friend like you. I cannot wait to see you again soon and let you know how your advice helped my situation. Thank you so much for your time and mentorship!

Best,

Mary

Example 2: Job Interview/Meeting/Professional

May 17, 2019

Dear Mrs. Hayes,

Thank you so much for meeting with me to discuss the open Receptionist position at ABC Company. I am truly thankful for the time you spent speaking to me about how wonderful your company is. I cannot wait to hear back about the position, as my skills and experience sound like a perfect fit for what you are looking for in this role. I cannot believe that we were both on the debate team in college and I really appreciate that you took the time to show me around the office space during our meeting. I look forward to speaking with you soon! Thank you again for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Joe Smith

Example 3: Gift

July 8, 2019

Dear Uncle Rob,

Thank you so much for travel book, Euros and glass picture frames. I am overwhelmed by the thought of the gift and support you have given me over this time while I finished graduate school. I cannot wait to read the book on my next trip to Ireland and will fill the frame with a picture of me in front of Blarney Castle, so I always remember the trip! I plan on spending the money on a pint or two down at the local pub! You have always pushed me to think outside the box and travel outside my comfort zone, so this gift is perfectly fitting of how I think of you. Hope to see you soon when I return and I’ll tell you all about my travels! Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness!

Love,

Hank
