Where To Celebrate National Taco Day in Boston
Whether you love corn or flour tortillas, carne asada or pescado de baja, everyone loves a good taco! Here’s a roundup of the best places in Boston to celebrate - as selected by BostonYPA members and friends!
For all-hours indulging: Lone Star Taco Bar.
Lone Star excels on the three square meals: brunch, dinner and late-night snacks! Their kitchen stays open until 1:30 AM every day, and brunch is served seven days a week. Mix and match with their extensive selection of tacos, and wash it all down with a 20-ounce “Mug”-arita. When the midnight munchies hit, make your order a “walking taco” - served in a bag of Fritos!
Located in East Cambridge and Allston.
For rockin’ the suburbs: Margaritas.
Who says the city gets to have all the fun? With multiple suburban locations across the East Coast, this spot is sure to satisfy. Tuck into an order of tacos or try their monthly margarita flight specials. Plus, if you join their Circle of Friends, you’ll rack up rewards to keep you coming back for more!
Multiple locations, including Waltham, Revere, Framingham and Lexington.
For roof deck chilling: Felipe’s Taqueria.
Roof deck season ain’t over until we say it’s over! Take it to the top of this Brattle Street mainstay for frozen drinks and fast-casual fare, plus elbow-knocking with Ivy League elites. Splurge on chips and guac to share with the squad - at their reasonable prices, you’ll look like a baller without busting your budget!
Located in Harvard Square.
For hearty appetites: Sunset Cantina.
This mainstay in the heart of BU territory embodies going big or going home. Choose from four taco selections, served with Mexican rice or a side of your choice. If your appetite can handle it, bring a crew to crush an enormous mountain of “famous” nachos or the huge selection of tequilas and cocktails. (Pour one out for its sister establishments, Patron’s and Sunset Grill & Tap. RIP.)
Located on Commonwealth Ave in Allston.
For the finer things in life: Bartaco.
Here, you’ve reached culinary nirvana. Everything from the decor to the scratch-kitchen bar and food menu to the uniform of That J. Crew Shirt is meticulously curated. Don’t skip the cocktails, either! “Bartaco is more bar than taco,” says friend of Boston YPA Kyle B. “Their tequila drinks/margs are top-notch.”
Located in the Seaport.
For hanging with the hipsters: Article 24.
This hip establishment off the beaten path is one of Brighton’s hidden treasures. But don’t be intimidated by the too-cool-for-school decor or eclectic beer selection: this spot has some of the best tacos in town! Come for Taco Tuesday deals and stay for trivia.
Located in Brighton.
For ballin’ on a budget: Zuma Tex-Mex Grill.
Zuma, first and only of its name, is the perfect destination for no-frills grub and glog. Grab some friends, head downstairs and split a pitcher of margaritas. At just 22 bucks a pop, you can treat the whole squad. (Pro tip: book on Seated to get rewards back on your bill!)
Located in Faneuil Hall Marketplace.
