Publishing content is only one part of a successful marketing strategy. Once you've got your blog post up, you've got to promote it. Here's where a lot of people struggle. They publish a post and wait for the crowds to come. Unfortunately, that's not the way it works anymore. Now, you have to spend just as much time, if not more, promoting your content to see an impact. Luckily, there are lots of tools out there to help you do that. In this post, I'm going to show you some of my favorites.
Buffer
The easiest way to share your content is to do it via social media. Now, unless you have a full time social media manager, you want something that makes it easy. Enter: Buffer. This is the go to tool for many for sharing social content. Hook up all your social media accounts from Twitter to Instagram to LinkedIn and schedule your shares. You can even monitor how your content is doing. Check and see what's getting engagement and what's falling flat. It's also easy to update your posting schedule.
Grum
Instagram has become a huge tool for a lot of brands, both B2B and B2C right now. But, one of the biggest drawbacks for many is that images could only be posted via phones. Not anymore. With Grum, you can post and schedule content to your Instagram account right from your desktop. This can be a lifesaver especially if you want to edit images or add text to it. Grum also lets you include a caption (and emjois are available). And, you can also include your first comment too. This is huge because it's best to place any hashtags you want to use in that first comment instead of the caption.
Yoast
Yoast is the best search engine optimization (SEO) tool out there. If you're running your site on WordPress, like most are, this is one of the plugins you need to have. The key with SEO is the more optimized your content is, the better the chance you'll have of better rankings with search engine results. Yoast helps you with that. You can use it not only for every single blog post you write but also for page content too. Making sure your content is search engine friendly is going to automatically help get it seen more.
Email Service Providers
It doesn't matter if you're using MailChimp or a more advanced email marketing system. The first place you should share your content is with your email list. You should have a weekly or monthly email newsletter up and running. It's the best way to connect with potential customers. And since these people are already on your email list, they are more likely to read your content. Depending on how often you write content, you can schedule an email to go out every time your release a post. Or you can send out a monthly newsletter that has a few posts.
Outbrain
When it comes to promoting your content, don't neglect paid marketing. Outbrain calls itself a 'content discovery tool.' You've probably seen these before, on some sites at the bottom of a post, there will be an 'also recommended' section. This is an example of what Outbrain does. You can get your content into these recommended boxes on sites that you wouldn't be able to reach otherwise. This means you can lots of new eyeballs on your content. Which can translate to more readers, and more potential customers. A great thing.
Final Thoughts
Remember, promote, promote, promote. You really can't do too much of it today. With more and more brands competing for the eyeballs of consumers, you have to be willing to go above and beyond to stand out. Use these tools to get your content out there quickly and easily.
